Sauvignon Blanc Chile 2023.
Those looking for a convincing lower-alcohol wine for summer sipping could be well served by the new offering from Casillero del Diablo. They present BeLight Sauvignon Blanc 2023 from Chile.
I have not yet found an alcohol-free wine which has the taste and texture impact of the real thing, but Casillero del Diablo BeLight Sauvignon Blanc 2023 ticks boxes for a decent wine without the risk of the inevitable hangover repercussions. It has 8.5% alcohol so an ideal choice when entertaining.
The early harvest of this Sauvignon Blanc allows for the development of lower sugar and therefore less alcohol in the finished wine. Sauvignon Blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from France, and is Chile’s second most widely-planted variety. Central Valley in Chile is one of the top regions for wine production in South America, with areas of varying climates.
Well-balanced acid
This wine has only 65 calories per glass. Its pale-yellow hue has a suspicion of green. It displays the expected expressions of Sauvignon Blanc, being crisp and clean with flavours of green apples and citrus with slight minerality. It has well-balanced acid making it a perfect pairing for salads, fish and shellfish or as a pre al fresco-dinner glass.
Casillero del Diablo BeLight Sauvignon Blanc 2023 should be served chilled to between 8 and 10°C. Remove from the fridge about 20 minutes before pouring. I would drink this now, although it can be kept in cellar conditions for up to three years.
Marketing Director at Casillero del Diablo, Sebastián Aguirre, says “Although there has been a change in preferences, people still want to enjoy experiences around wine consumption. That’s why BeLight is a great option. For a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, our new offering includes a 30% reduction in calories compared to a traditional glass of Sauvignon Blanc, without sacrificing the outstanding characteristics that have made Casillero del Diablo a world-renowned wine.”
