Château Haut Gléon estate covers 260 hectares of garrigue, a scrubland of aromatic Mediterranean herbs and forests, including 30 hectares of vines in PDO Corbières and IGP Vallée du Paradis. It has a long history: the property stands on the former medieval castle, built in 1223, when the Viscount of Narbonne gave the land to the de Treilles family, who took the name “de Gléon”.
In 1861, Madame la Marquise de Gléon sold the estate to Monsieur Hippolyte Bonnes, who split it in two for each of his sons in 1874. The Duhamel family acquired the Gléon d’en haut estate in 1991. The new owners decided to rename the estate “Château Haut Gléon”. Vignobles Foncalieu bought Château Haut Gléon in 2012.
Château Haut Gléon Corbières 2021 is produced from a trio of grapes. White Grenache is a variation of the better-known black Grenache grape and originally from northern Spain, where it is called Garnacha Blanca.
