Garfield mania has arrived with the countdown to the May 24th Animated Movie of the Year celebrating the world’s laziest cat! Frankie & Benny’s kid’s menu will feature a new limited item: (you guessed it) lasagne, and the chance for one lucky family to win a once in a lifetime trip to New York City.
Popular Italian American restaurant Frankie & Benny’s has announced a special collaboration to celebrate the animated movie launch of Garfield, the lazy, wise-cracking, lasagne-loving iconic cat. Frankie & Benny’s has proudly teamed up with Columbia Pictures/Alcon Entertainment to salute the upcoming Garfield film. The much-loved restaurant has become the official UK restaurant partner for the movie and from today will unveil a series of new Garfield-inspired treats and special events for diners. The popular Italian restaurant’s Executive Head Chef, Ben Keegans, has created a delicious new lasagne dish for their little diners and he guarantees it’s Garfield approved. The new exclusive menu item comes with a drink, side, and a dessert all for £8.30.
A cat’s life
Since the creation of the Garfield comic strip by Jim Davis in 1978, the world-famous, fat, cynical, orange tabby has shown off his love of lasagne and hatred of Mondays, which resulted in attracting generations of fans. Garfield became the world’s most syndicated cartoon, loved by millions for his lazy outlook on life with laid-back observations including “Oh no! I overslept! I’m late! For my nap.”, “You know it’s Monday when you wake up, and it’s Tuesday.” and “All I do is eat and sleep. Eat and sleep. Eat and sleep. There must be more to a cat’s life than that. But I hope not.” And now, as the world awaits the May 24th release of The Garfield Movie, Frankie & Benny’s is set to entertain families as well as all lovers of all the Garfield characters including Odie (Garfield’s dog!), Jon (Garfield’s ‘owner’), and new faces like Vic (Garfield’s long-lost father).
