I am not a great cereal eater. Bowls of sugary floating goods first thing in the morning just doesn’t appeal. I am an adult and left such pleasures behind several decades ago. Grandma Crunch has an alternative with added benefits. This is indeed a grown-up snack which one could enjoy with milk or without.
Grandma Crunch is a company producing some unique cereals. They will likely appeal to those of us who want to cut back on sugar and carbs. They come in 3 varieties, and Grandma Crunch is a complete protein source. And they include all the non-essential amino acids: Alanine, Asparagine, Aspartate, Cysteine, Glutamate, Glutamine, Glycine, Proline, Serine, Tyrosine and Arginine. As well as being vegan and dairy-free, Grandma Crunch is grain-free, wheat-free, gluten-free and preservative-free!
Ocean-bound plastic will be collected
With 15g of protein, the Cinnamon flavour has 0g of sugar and 5g of carbs. The promotional information does not mention that a small bowl of this cereal is sustaining. I had a largeish portion on my first review morning and could not finish it. That was unexpected! It is sweetened with Erythritol which is a sugar alcohol, used as a sugar substitute. It is naturally occurring and is made from corn using enzymes and fermentation. Grandma Crunch won’t affect blood sugar like regular sugar or other sweeteners often found in high protein products! This is delicious, with real cinnamon flavour and a crunch that lasts even in milk. Perfect for munching from the box. When you buy this product, ocean-bound plastic will be collected on your behalf in either Africa or Southeast Asia. This plastic collection provides crucial income to local waste-pickers living in disadvantaged communities. Every year, 8 million tonnes of plastic enter the oceans. By collecting this plastic before it’s lost at sea, it can instead be recycled, up-cycled or used for energy. The same scheme applies to the Coconut flavour. This is unique and would be a great addition to a lunch box. It’s a perfect topping for yoghurt and one can add a drizzle of honey to that to create a rather smart yet simple dessert.
The Cocoa version is bound to be popular not only for breakfast but also for snacking. This is a healthy and frankly addictive alternative to fatty nibbles on movie nights. When you buy this product, mangrove trees are planted on your behalf in either Madagascar, Mozambique, or Kenya. This gives crucial income to local villagers so they can provide for their families. Mangrove forests are essential coastal ecosystems. They store four times as much carbon as even tropical rainforest, making them an important tool to mitigate climate change.
Grandma Crunch isn’t the cheapest snack around but it’s delicious and versatile, and goes a long way. I am a convert.
