Passerina from Tesco Finest

A unique wine for summer sipping.

Tesco FinestPasserina is an ancient grape variety from Le Marche and also Abruzzo in Italy, from where this particular bottle hails. It is said to be named after the sparrows that appreciate the fruit so much. Those little birds decorate the label. Until recently Passerina was used as a blending grape to add a degree of refinement to wines, but today its character is enjoyed unalloyed.

Tesco Finest now has Passerina as part of its range of well-priced and polished wines. This is a dry white wine which works well with chicken, pasta and pork in light sauces, as well as seafood and especially grilled white fish. It’s good enough to drink as an aperitif with nibbles, too. It’s crisp and perfect for summer when served chilled.

CITRA Winery is now one of the leading wineries in central Italy and a producer of reliable and distinctive wines which have done well in international wine tasting competitions.
