Showa Mochicco Fluffy Pancake Mix

Fluffy Japanese pancakes with a hint of aromatic maple syrup!

Showa Mochicco’s pancake mix uses 100% Hokkaido wheat flour and has a moist, fluffy and pleasant texture. To conserve freshness, this pack contains 4 individual bags of pancake mix with the enticing aroma of maple syrup and butter. Its special recipe makes the pancakes moist and delicious even when cold. You can even mix the batter with tofu, melted butter or Japanese mayonnaise for different texture and flavour. One can produce either a sweet or a savoury treat.

mochiccoJapanese pancakes, or hot cakes, are more like Scotch pancakes or American flapjacks rather than the thin European crepe-style pancakes preferred by the British and French. In Japan, these hot cakes are often served with maple syrup for breakfast or sweet azuki beans or black sugar syrup as a dessert.

A morning or a dinner treat

This Showa Mochicco Fluffy Pancake Mix is simple to use to make a morning or a dinner treat. For 1 bag of the pancake mix (approx. 120g), you can simply make 3 deliciously thick and fluffy pancakes! There are four bags in each pack.

  • Add 1 egg and 80ml milk (or water) in a bowl and whisk thoroughly. Add a bag of pancake mix gradually and whisk until you have a smooth batter.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat, place on top of a damp cloth to cool a little, then add 1/3 of the pancake mix.
  • Heat on a low flame for about 3 mins till bubbles form on the top. Flip the pancake and cook for a further 3 minutes until brown on both sides, and slide onto a plate. Repeat twice more with the rest of the batter, turn off the heat, and enjoy with more maple syrup and perhaps a pat of butter!
