Yellowstone Debuts American Single Malt Whiskey

The latest addition to the US’ most successful whiskey category lands on British shores.

Yellowstone WhiskeyDirect from Kentucky USA, Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey has made a bold entrance into the UK, as part of the latest innovative wave of single malts, ready to challenge the staunchest of Scottish single malt fans.

While American and Scottish single malt whiskeys share similarities, including being aged in oak barrels and being produced from malted barley, the freedom afforded to American single malt production such as innovative distillation methods, the ability to use a variety of cask types and the huge geographical and climate variations the USA can offer, is giving a whole new versatility of flavour to single malt whiskey.

So where does Yellowstone fit in? Made from 100% malted barley and perfectly aged for four years in new charred American Oak barrels, Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey offers a nose of cereal malt and honey, with a sweet, medium body that carries notes of honey, pear, stone fruit and dates. The finish contains notes of oak, with hints of cinnamon and English walnuts.

Seven generations of distilling

Enjoyed as a sipping whiskey, Yellowstone American Single Malt is the creation of Limestone Branch Distillery, which represents seven generations of distilling experience, its current Master Distiller Stephen Beam a descendant of the legendary Beam and Dant whiskey families.

Beautifully bottled, featuring the brand’s iconic Lower Falls artwork, Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey, 54% ABV (70cl), is available from Master of Malt, RRP: £58.81.

Stephen Beam, Limestone Branch Distillery’s Master Distiller, said: “As a brand new American Single Malt category emerges, this is a very exciting time in the world of whiskey, and we’re delighted to be a part of it.

“Yellowstone American Single Malt sales are up 65% from 2023 in the US, demonstrating its popularity and proving that it is extremely well placed to stand up to staunch Scottish single malt whisky fans.  I’d encourage those that believe they know all there is to know about single malts to try our innovative single malt.”

Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey is a unique departure from its flagship bourbon, Yellowstone Select, the best-selling whiskey which features a blend of four-year-old and seven-year-old Kentucky straight bourbons, each chosen to provide a taste that celebrates the family’s deep distilling roots.

Yellowstone continues to support Western USA’s Yellowstone National Park through an ongoing partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), an independent organisation working to strengthen and protect national parks.
